Bridget MacDonald from Umbrella

Bridget brings a wealth of business, management, counselling and EAP experience to her role as our Wellbeing Services Manager. “I am passionate about developing empathic, supportive relationships at work and home to enhance overall wellbeing.”

Bridget has a background in business ownership, senior management and consulting in the commercial sector, and secondary teaching. For 18 years, she worked in private practice with individuals, couples and families, and as an employee assistance programme (EAP) provider and practitioner.

Her EAP work was with diverse organisations; she provided training, management coaching and supervision, mediation, counselling and group support.

“In early 2022, I was given the exciting opportunity to redesign and lead the EAP for a group of companies through Umbrella Wellbeing.”

She is particularly interested in how research on the brain and emotions can be applied, and the mind-body connections to self-management, resilience and relationships.

As a certified practitioner of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), registered with the NZ Association of Counsellors, her clinical experience includes working with interpersonal conflict, trauma, emotional dysregulation, betrayal, change, loss and grief, unhelpful patterns and blocks to living “authentically”.

“I find it a great privilege to support people – and organisations – towards resourced, positive changes,” she says.
